Are The Drug Companies Killing Us?
My View:
I have always had the biggest "paranoia" (long before I became a Certified Herbalist) that the drug companies were doing an evil thing by dominating the commercial TV ads convincing us that “This is the way to better health” It’s quite obvious they control the doctors protocol, so when they ask you to, “Ask your doctor” they have their double-certified drug pushing technique in perfect line for executing! Most people swallow this hook line and sinker! Sadly, it’s a two way street. If we weren’t so lazy and concerned with convenience rather then using common sense, knowing darn well that what we put into our bodies must be kept natural, the drug companies would have never succeeded.
I have a bad habit of compartmentalizing stuff like this so I just filed it under “My Little Paranoias” and tried to forget it but then the facts started showing up: The estimated total number of iatrogenic deaths—that is, deaths induced inadvertently by a physician or surgeon or by medical treatment or diagnostic procedures— in the US annually is 783,936. It is evident that the American medical system is itself the leading cause of death and injury in the US! In April the Journal of American Medicine reported that "properly prescribed" legal drugs killed 106,000 Americans each year, due to toxic reactions. That's more that twenty times the number of Americans killed by illegal drugs, estimated at 5,212. Will politicians declare a War on the Pharmaceutical Drug Pushers? Of course not! So why are we spending $17 billion on the War on Drugs and not including the bigest killers which are the Pharmaceutical companies?
The biggest mistake millions of people commonly make is supporting these drug pushers! Ever notice a “cure” is always just around the corner? Drug companies have weaseled billions of dollars from rich and poor alike with their compelling line of bull!
